My name is Talon Barnes and I am currently attending Cuesta college working towards getting my AA degree in business. I work at a dirt bike distributing company Monday through Friday from 7 am till 4 pm. I also own a landscaping and property maintenance company that I hope to grow into a much larger business in the near future. I am working towards getting my general contractors license so that I can bid bigger, higher paying jobs. Right now I only work in the San Luis Obispo County area but plan to expand and make my way into Santa Barbara county as well.
Through my work experience and running my own business, I have developed strong leadership, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Balancing a full-time job, college coursework, and operating my own landscaping and property maintenance company has taught me how to stay organized, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines. As a business owner, I have gained experience communicating with customers, estimating jobs, managing projects, handling unexpected challenges, and taking responsibility for the quality of my work. I am a highly motivated and dependable individual who takes pride in learning new skills and finding ways to improve. My entrepreneurial mindset has also taught me to take initiative, work independently, and look for opportunities to grow.
